Caught in blur of schedules and timetables, people in today’s world often thirst for a richer inner life and real heart communion with God. On most third Sunday evenings of the month, First Baptist holds a contemplative service of prayer, scripture and silent meditation in the style of Taizé to offer a time of communal contemplation. A cross-section of persons throughout our community attend our Taizé service on a regular basis. Taizé is a time to focus on who you are and whose you are, then carry it outward into the world. We invite you to join us and experience this meditative form of worship. Sunday, Apr. 14, 10:15 a.m. Palm/Passion Sunday Procession of palms by children. Service led by Youth & Children along with Celebration Choir & Bells of Praise

Thursday, Apr. 18, 6:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday Service of Holy Communion led by Pastor Joe;  Music by Sanctuary Choir

Friday, Apr. 19, 12:00 p.m. Good Friday Ecumenical Service Worship with Church Row congregations at First United Methodist Church, 614 Randolph. Cross processional begins at 11:30 a.m. from Zion Lutheran to FUMC.

Sunday, Apr. 21, Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at 6:20 a.m. held at Riverloop Amphitheatre, 225 Commerical St., Waterloo with light refreshments to follow. Easter Celebration, 10:15 a.m. in the sanctuary with Sanctuary Choir, Bells, and Trumpet
